Letters
I’m starting to like the word “letters” more than “posts”. A post sounds like content. A letter sounds like there is a person on the other end.
Maybe that’s the bar for writing in public? Say something to someone, even when you don’t know exactly who that is yet.
I’ve been reading Feyman’s letters these days. Letters feel more satisfying than (auto)biographies — there’s an authenticity that’s not easy to replicate. Seneca and Rilke, also captured their deep thoughts in letters.
I recently exchanged some long form emails with an internet stranger and a friend. It’s the closest I’ve come to letter writing in recent times.
